Javy Baez would 'love to stay' with Cubs for entire career

Chicago Cubs standout shortstop Javier Baez has become a fan favorite on the North Side.

There's not much not to like with this daily defensive highlights and his tape measure homers onto Waveland Avenue.

Baez was interviewed by ESPN's Alex Rodriguez in preparation for Sunday Night's telecast between the Cubs and Cardinals and shared that he would love to stay with the Cubs for his entire career.

"I would love to stay here my whole career if it's possible," Baez said. "I know the fans, all the support that we get from them and all the time they got for us. I would love to stay here for sure."

Cubs fans would love to see Baez and the Cubs work out a long-term extension to keep him from leaving the ballclub in a few years. Theo Epstein, you are officially on the clock to make it happen.

Baez is batting .318 with 11 homers and 26 RBIs this season.
