Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today the latest COVID-19 testing results under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan, through the end of Thursday, August 13th:
MONITORING TESTING
Covered Individuals are now in Monitoring Testing. To date, the results of Monitoring Testing are as follows:
• The number of monitoring samples collected and tested in the past week was 12,301.
• 4 of these 12,301 samples, which is 0.03%, have been new positives.
--2 positives were players and 2 were staff members.
-- All 4 of these positives were from a single MLB Club; the other 29 Clubs had 0 positives.
• The total number of monitoring samples collected and tested has been 66,127.
-- 75 of these 66,127 samples, which is 0.1%, have been new positives.
-- 51 of the 75 positives have been players and 24 have been staff members.
• 19 different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.
The last time anyone other than a member of the #STlCards tested positive for COVID-19 in MLB/PA testing was July 30. So that is 2 weeks in which just 1 team has a positive.
