Ross to meet with Theo Epstein about possible role with Cubs

by - Senior Editor -

The Cubs won their first World Series since 1908 and one of the pivotal players during the season was veteran catcher David Ross. He made such an impact in his two years with the Cubs that the majority of Cubs Nation including his former teammates would love for him to come back to the ballclub in some capacity.

Good news for those that already miss 'Grandpa Rossy' as he has a meeting with Cubs President Theo Epstein scheduled after Thanksgiving to discuss different options with the Cubs.

"I still want to stay in the game and do something," Ross said via Cubs insider Carrie Muskat. "I want to stay in it somehow, some way, and be connected."

"I have some priorities," he said. "I want to discuss it with my wife and kids. 'Hey, dad's going to do this and this many days, and this is how dad can make money.' I've made great money, but I can't just go off into the sunset."

Potentially, Ross could work in the front office like Ryan Dempster and others. Ross batted .229 with ten homers and 32 RBIs in his final season in the majors.
