Not great news for fans of the Chicago Cubs.
During Wednesday's pre-game against the Rockies, reliever Steve Cishek was carted off the field after getting hit in the right leg (knee or shin region) by a baseball while he was doing some stretching and throwing in the outfield.
He was obviously in pain and was helped by the training staff to a golf cart and was carted off to the locker room.
CubsHQ will update you when we get more information on Cishek's injury.
For the season, he has a 3.21 ERA with six saves and a 1.14 WHIP.
Update: Steve Cishek suffered a bad bruise to the inside of his right knee according to multiple reports.
While playing catch Kintzler throw crossed up Cishek. Got him in knee or shin.
