Cubs News: Tony Kemp entertains fans by doing backflip before game

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — New Chicago Cubs second baseman Tony Kemp, who was acquired from the Houston Astros last week, is quite the athlete. Boasting plenty of agility and speed, Kemp is expected to become a weapon on the basepaths down the stretch for the Cubs, much like Terrance Gore was last season.

Prior to Sunday's game at Wrigley Field, Kemp entertained the fans in attendance for the Cubs' matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers by channeling the great Ozzie Smith and doing a backflip on the field. The running backflip also included a handstand as part of the acrobatic display.

Update: Kemp performed the same routine prior to Monday's contest at the Friendly Confines between the Cubs and the Oakland Athletics. This time, a Cubs videographer captured it on video.
