WATCH: Almora hits foul tip directly into Braves catcher's groin

CUMBERLAND, Georgia — The Chicago Cubs had a rough night against the Atlanta Braves on Monday, with Chicago committing six errors in a game for the first time since 2006. However, the Cubs' suffering paled in comparison to the suffering experienced by Braves catcher Brian McCann.

McCann made his return to the Braves, the team that he played the first nine seasons of his career for, this past offseason and wasted no time in ingratiating himself to the fans with a 2-run single in the first inning of the Braves' home opener. However, later in the game, McCann was forced to endure something that catchers endure from time to time when a foul tip sailed directly into his crotch.

McCann showed obvious discomfort after a foul tip by Cubs outfielder Albert Almora Jr. caromed right into his cup, but the veteran was able to tough it out and remain in the game. The 8-0 shutout triumph by the Braves likely made up for the shot to the crotch.
