CHICAGO — Giving a changeup a ride out to straightaway center field on Monday, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez smacked a tape measure blast against the San Diego Padres. The go-ahead home run came with two outs in the bottom of the third and followed a two-out triple by first baseman Kris Bryant, his first three-bagger of the season.

Starter Chris Paddack was taken deep by Baez on a full count, with Baez sending an 87-mph breaking ball well over the center field wall and off the batter's eye at Wrigley Field. Plating Bryant, "El Mago" put the Cubs up 2-1 via the two-run jack, which served as Javy's 12th long ball of the year. The dinger left the bat at 110.1 mph and 25 degrees.
