WATCH: Baez obliterates baseball on monstrous 440-foot bomb |
Chicago Cubs shortstop
Javier Baez hesitated before exiting the batter's box after drilling an awe-inspiring 2-run home run on Tuesday. In typical "Javy" style, the flashy slugger sauntered down the first baseline while soaking in the cheers from the excited fans at Wrigley Field.
An inning after Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber hit a jaw-dropping moonshot, Baez tallied one of his own, with the 2-run shot in the bottom of the sixth plating first baseman Anthony Rizzo and putting the Cubs up 5-2 over the Colorado Rockies. Swinging at a first-pitch fastball thrown to him by Rockies starter Jeff Hoffman, Baez clobbered a 440-foot tater to straightaway center field for his 15th homer of the year. Dear Javy,
Never change.
