WATCH: Brandon Kintzler falls down while delivering pitch

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Late in a thrilling contest between the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, Cubs reliever Brandon Kintzler was clearly caught up in the moment. Known for his goofball nature, Kintzler accidentally dabbled in slapstick humor. Slipping and falling while delivering a pitch, Kintzler served up a lighthearted moment in the midst of a nail-biting game.

With two outs and the Cubs trailing the Giants 11-10 in the top of the eighth at Wrigley Field, Kintzler stumbled and failed to catch himself on a pitch in the dirt. Adding insult to injury, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant proceeded to suffer a blatant throwing error, which put a runner on second base. Kintzler was able to recover, though, as he recorded an inning-ending strikeout in the next at-bat.
