WATCH: Bryant smacks Mother's Day moonshot to provide Cubs with insurance runs

by - Senior Writer -

Chicago Cubs slugger Kris Bryant, who boasts MLB's longest active on-base streak at 22 games, homered for the fifth time in the last eight games against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. With his third hit of the night, Bryant smacked a Mother's Day moonshot to provide the Cubs with some insurance runs.

The 385-footer was lined over the wall in center field to usher home Albert Almora Jr. and put the Cubs up 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh. The 2-run shot off Brewers reliever Adrian Houser came on a 94-mile-per-hour fastball and was smoked off the bat at 104 miles per hour. Bryant now has eight home runs and 26 RBI on the season.
