WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' 4-homer showing against Cardinals

by - Senior Writer -

ST. LOUIS — After winning Friday's series opener at Busch Stadium, the Chicago Cubs (84-77) continued to be thorns in the sides of the St. Louis Cardinals (90-71) on Saturday. Winning 8-6, the Cubs went yard on four separate occasions, with Ian Happ tabbing two home runs, and outhit the Cardinals 16-6.

The benches cleared early on in the contest, as Yadier Molina assumed that Cole Hamels intentionally hit him with a pitch. Nothing came of the mild fracas, but the Cubs had the last laugh, anyway. A victory by the Cardinals would have resulted in them claiming the National League Central title. Instead, the Redbirds will have to try again on Sunday.
