WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' rout of Cardinals in series finale

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO, Ill. — Everything seemed to work for the Chicago Cubs (19-12) at the plate against the St. Louis Cardinals (20-14) on Sunday. The North Siders put on a show at Wrigley Field en route to winning 13-5 and earning a 3-game sweep of their most hated rivals.

Chicago went yard twice in the contest, with catcher Willson Contreras providing the Cubs with their first run on a solo jack in the second inning and Kris Bryant blasting a grand slam in the eighth frame to put the Cubs up 13-2. Eight of the Cubs' 12 hits on the night were of the extra-base variety.
