WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' six-homer outburst in win over Braves

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Breaking out of an offensive slump in a big way, the Chicago Cubs (6-8) racked up six home runs at the plate on Saturday en route to beating the Atlanta Braves (6-9) 13-4 at Wrigley Field. Entering the contest, the Cubs had scored just 11 combined runs in their six previous games.

The North Siders finished one dinger shy of the franchise's single-game record. Kris Bryant and Willson Contreras both homered twice on the afternoon, with Contreras going yard in his third straight outing for the first time in his career. Javier Baez and David Bote also got in on the homer-hitting action by swatting a three-run homer apiece.
