WATCH: Jason Heyward hustles around bases for game-tying triple

CHICAGO — Tallying his third RBI of the afternoon, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward slapped a game-tying triple to deep center field as part of a 4-run fifth inning for the Cubs on Thursday. Tying the Atlanta Braves up at six runs apiece, Heyward plated first baseman Anthony Rizzo from third base with his third triple of 2019.

On the sixth pitch of his at-bat, Heyward, who hit a 2-run single earlier in the game, connected on a changeup thrown by Braves relief pitcher Josh Tomlin and drove it passed Braves center fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. Motoring around the basepaths, Heyward slid in safely at third, thereby securing the pivotal 3-bagger that sent the Wrigley Field crowd into a frenzy. Heyward now has 31 RBI to his name this season.
