PITTSBURGH — Knotting the Pittsburgh Pirates up at three runs apiece, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez plowed a 411-foot solo blast out to straightaway center field on Wednesday. The solo dinger marked Baez's 22nd home run of the year.

On the eighth pitch of his fifth-inning at-bat, Baez hammered a long ball at PNC Park on a changeup thrown by Pirates starter Chris Archer. The moonshot was skied off the bat at a steep angle of 31 degrees, and it boasted an exit velocity of 102 miles per hour.
