CHICAGO — Bringing an end to a longstanding scoreless tie, Chicago Cubs third baseman
Kris Bryant powered out a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh on Friday. The go-ahead dinger put the Cubs up 1-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field.
Taking Pirates starter Chris Archer deep on a sinker, Bryant sent a 368-foot blast just over the wall in the left-field well. The high drive was skied off the bat at an angle of 33 degrees. Bryant now has 18 homers and 45 RBI on the season. Kris Bryant was launching baseballs into the river yesterday, today he's launching them into the bleachers! @Cubs lead 1-0 in the 7th!
