WATCH: SCHWAR-BOMB ALERT!!! Silky smooth swing gives Schwarber first homer of season |
ARLINGTON, Texas — Making it look effortless, Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber slugged his first home run of the season to put the Cubs up 5-3 over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night. Serving as the designated hitter, Schwarber pounded out a solo shot off reliever Jeanmar Gomez.
Schwarber's second hit and second RBI of the night came on the 424-foot solo jack to center that arced off the bat at an angle of 30 degrees. A low slider from Gomez was sent out of the park for the home run, which featured a smooth, somewhat effortless swing from Schwarber. #Cubs 5 @ #Rangers 3 [T5-1o]
