Ohio native Kyle Schwarber went yard against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark on Wednesday for his ninth career homer in his home state. Schwarber sent a 2-seamer just over the wall in right-center in the top of the eighth, garnering his fifth dinger of the year.

The solo shot provided the Cubs with an insurance run by putting them ahead 5-3. Coming with two outs in the inning, the blast came on a pitch from Reds reliever David Hernandez and sailed 392 feet into the bleachers. It marked the third home run of the game for the Cubs.
