CHICAGO — Victor Caratini pinch hit for the Chicago Cubs in the bottom of the seventh on Saturday, as the Cubs boasted a comfortable 12-run lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates at the time, and delivered. Hitting the Cubs' fourth home run of the game, Caratini ripped a solo shot out to right field.

The leadoff dinger at Wrigley Field marked Caratini's 10th long ball of the year, and it was lined over the right-field wall after leaving the bat at 104 miles per hour. Caratini put the Cubs up 14-1 by way of the solo shot, which came on a slider thrown by Pirates reliever Parker Markel.
