CHICAGO — Following an RBI triple from right fielder Jason Heyward that capped off the Chicago Cubs' comeback after the North Siders fell down 6-1, Cubs catcher Victor Caratini hit a towering go-ahead blast that put the Cubs up 8-6 on the Atlanta Braves. Taking Braves reliever Josh Tomlin deep, Caratini pounded a 2-run shot into the bleachers beyond right-center at Wrigley Field.

Caratini's 407-foot blast was part of a 4-run fifth inning for the Cubs on Thursday. The bomb was smoked off the bat at 107 miles per hour and boasted plenty of hang time after getting launched at an angle of 22 degrees. Caratini plated Heyward on the round-tripper. The backstop now has two home runs and 11 RBI for the season. Tomlin gave up the homer on an 88-mile-per-hour cutter thrown over the heart of the plate.
