WATCH: Willson Contreras discusses his injury recovery

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — After not playing for the Chicago Cubs since Aug. 3 due to a hamstring strain suffered on the basepaths, catcher Willson Contreras was activated off the injured list and inserted into the starting lineup on Tuesday. Prior to the Cubs' matchup against the Seattle Mariners at Wrigley Field, Contreras addressed the media.

When comparing his latest hamstring injury to the one that he dealt with earlier in his big-league career, Contreras said that the recovery was much easier this time around. Contreras recently completed a rehab stint with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs that spanned three games, and he is now healthy and ready to return to action for Chicago.
