WATCH: Willson Contreras skies go-ahead 2-run no-doubter |
PITTSBURGH — With a go-ahead home run, Chicago Cubs catcher
Willson Contreras hammered a 382-foot jack beyond left field at PNC Park on Thursday. Contreras skied a 2-run blast that put the Cubs up 4-2 over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the top of the third.
Getting underneath a slider thrown by Pirates hurler Jordan Lyles, Contreras cranked a moonshot that boasted a steep launch angle of 38 degrees. The dinger plated Kris Bryant, who hit a ground-rule double earlier in the inning. Joining Bryant and Albert Almora Jr., Contreras became the third Cub to go yard in the game. .@WContreras40 joins the festivities! ??????#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/e6G15mr2mt
