Cubs activate Willson Contreras

by -

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today activated catcher Willson Contreras off of the 10-day disabled list. The club’s active roster now stands at 34 players.

Contreras, 25, was placed on the disabled list on August 11 due to a right hamstring strain. He is batting .274 (93-for-339) with 20 doubles, 21 homers and 70 RBI in 102 games for the Cubs this season. Contreras played two games with Single-A Myrtle Beach as part of his return, going 1-for-4 with a pair of walks.
