Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell is out of Friday afternoon's important game with the Washington Nationals with a right foot injury.

Russell has been out of the lineup for the last two contests and will be placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right foot sprain.

In 2017, he is batting .241 with 10 homers and 36 RBI.

The Cubs will call up reliever Rob Zastryzny to fill the roster spot.
