Cubs News: Anthony Rizzo misses scrimmage because of back issue |
The Chicago Cubs didn't have their standout first baseman
Anthony Rizzo for Tuesday night's scrimmage at Wrigley Field.
Rizzo wasn't in the intrasquad game because of lower back tightness. This is pretty normal for Rizzo as his back tightens up a little occasionally during every season. The Cubs smartly took precautions by giving the All-Star the day off so it doesn't become a more serious issue down the line during real meaningful games. The 30-year old will be re-evaluated on Wednesday morning. In scrimmage news, Willson Contreras hit a two-run homer off of reliever Craig Kimbrel in the 2-0 Cubs win over the Cubs.
