Chicago Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist is finally getting better after he suffered a wrist injury during a swing back in late May against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Zobrist will join Double-A Tennessee on Thursday to start his rehab assignment. If all goes well, he could be back with the major league club in a few days. The Cubs need Zobrist's veteran leadership in a batting lineup that is playing below par at the moment.

In 2017, Zobrist is batting a dismal .223 with seven homers, 21 RBI, and .321 on-base percentage. For his career, he has batted .264 with 152 homers, 664 RBI, and .357 on-base percentage.
