Cardinals OF believes Cubs hit him intentionally

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham has made the quite the impression this week to Cubs fans after saying the following about Ben Zobrist's standard playoff comments.

"Better not ask me how I'm doing on the field," Pham said to reporters. "I don't wanna be his friend now. You know, you say you're going to come here and pop bottles...don't say hi to me on the field then."

However, it got even crazier on Wednesday afternoon as Pham said that he felt that the Cubs intentionally hit him but doesn't "make enough money" to risk suspension to charge the mound. Pham left the game with a left-side contusion after getting hit in the ribcage during Tuesday's 8-7 Cardinals win.

In 2017, Pham is batting .310 with 23 homers, 73 RBI, and .411 on-base percentage.

It's possible that the Cubs threw at him but his comments to the media this week have been pretty childish and pretty awkward.

Regardless of what Pham thinks the Cubs (88-69) will play the Redbirds at 6:08 p.m. CDT on Wednesday night and will have an opportunity to clinch the division with a win tonight or a Brewers loss.
