The Cincinnati Reds announced that Thursday's rainout (7/30) will be part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 29.
"The Reds and Cubs will make up last Thursday's rainout as part of a traditional doubleheader at GABP with two 7-inning games on Saturday, August 29 at 4:10 p.m. ET," the Reds posted on social media. Interesting it will be a doubleheader with the new wacky 7-inning rules which seems like little league rules but I understand the thought process of not tiring out the pitches during this bizarre season. All doubleheaders moving forward this season will be of the 7-inning variety. The shorter games actually might work to the Cubs advantage because they might not have to use their bullpen too much in only seven innings of action per game. Hopefully, the Cubs will still be racking up the wins when it comes time to play these in late August. Our 7/30 rainout vs. the Reds has been rescheduled for Saturday, 8/29.
