Cubs co-owner to be finance chairman for Trump's 2020 presidential election

The Republican National Committee has announced that Chicago Cubs co-owner Tom Ricketts will be the finance chairman for President Trump's re-election campaign in 2020.

“I am honored to continue to support President Trump and the Republican Party through the Trump Victory Committee,” Ricketts said in a statement via the Chicago Sun-Times. “As we head toward 2020, I will work to ensure President Trump and his campaign have the resources they need to fight for the American people.”

The Ricketts' family bought a majority stake in the Cubs in 2009.

This new hire is so bizarre after Trump blasted the Ricketts' family back in 2016 with the following tweet:
