The Chicago Cubs (49-45) will take on their rival St. Louis Cardinals at 1:20 PM CDT on Friday afternoon televised on ABC 7 Chicago and WGN-TV. The Cubs will be going for seven straight wins in a row to start the second half of the season. The Cubs have also won six out of nine games this season against the Redbirds.

Cubs veteran righty Jake Arrieta will go for the defending World Champions opposed by hard-throwing righty Carlos Martinez.

Cubs slugger Kris Bryant is out for today's game with his left pinkie injury after a headfirst slide against the Braves on Wednesday afternoon.
