The Chicago Cubs Saturday reach the halfway point of their 2017 campaign with the middle game of their three-game set in Cincinnati (0-1), the third and final stop of their 11-game, 11-day road trip that started on June 22 in Miami (2-2) and continued this week in Washington D.C. (2-2). After this series, the Cubs return to Wrigley for six games leading to the All-Star Break against Tampa Bay (July 4-5), Milwaukee (July 6) and Pittsburgh (July 7-9).

At 40-40, the Cubs have nestled upon the .500 mark for the 17th time this season by way of various circuitous routes … the Cubs have also been 1-1, 2-2, 6-6, 7-7, 16-16, 17-17, 18-18, 19-19, 25-25, 27-27, 30-30, 31-31, 32-32, 33-33, 34-34 and 39-39.
