The Chicago Cubs (88-68) will battle their rival St. Louis Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. CDT on Tuesday night televised on CSN Chicago and ESPN. The Cubs are in sole possession of first place ahead of the Brewers by six games in the National League Central division and the North Siders can clinch the division with a win tonight.
The North Siders are currently a sizzling 8-2 in their last ten games and their magic number to clinching the division only one. Veteran Jake Arrieta will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Carlos Martinez. In 2017, Arrieta has a 14-9 record with a 3.43 ERA and 159 strikeouts. Cubs second baseman Javy Baez will get the day off after fouling a ball off his right knee and had to leave the game on Monday night.
