The Chicago Cubs (59-54) will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on 8:40 PM CDT on Friday night televised on CSN Chicago.

Righty veteran pitcher John Lackey will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Taijuan Walker.

In 2017, Lackey has a 9-9 record with 4.81 ERA with 102 strikeouts. In his last five starts, he has been impressive with a 4-0 record with a 3.33 ERA.

Willson Contreras will be out of the lineup dealing with his hamstring injury.
