Cubs lineup vs. Marlins, Rizzo at leadoff

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs (37-35) will battle the Miami Marlins at 6:10 p.m. CDT on Friday night televised on WGN-TV.

Righty veteran John Lackey will take the mound for the defending World Champions opposed by righty starter Jose Urena.

In 2017, Lackey has a 5-7 record with 4.98 ERA and 77 strikeouts while giving up an insane 20 homers already this season.

First baseman Anthony Rizzo will leadoff again after being a spark plug for the last nine games.

In injury news, Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is on the disabled list with a hand abrasion and Ben Zobrist is still out with his wrist injury and currently on the 10-day disabled list. Zobrist stayed back in Chicago to do rehab before being activated by the Cubs hopefully in a few days.

The Cubs are currently still in second place in the National League Central (1.5 GB) behind the Milwaukee Brewers.
