Cubs lineup vs. Nationals, Baez out

by - Senior Editor -

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs will battle the Washington Nationals in game three of the NLDS at 3:00 p.m. CDT on Monday afternoon televised on TBS.

Lefty Jose Quintana will start for the defending World Champions opposed by NL CY Young award winner Max Scherzer.

In 2017, Quintana has an 11-11 record with a 4.15 ERA and 207 strikeouts. Since he has joined the Cubs, he is 7-3 with a 3.74 ERA.

On the other hand, Scherzer is battling back from a tweaked hamstring so we will have to see how it responds in this important playoff game. In his career against the Cubs, he has a 2.92 ERA in six starts.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon chose to sit Javy Baez for today's game in favor of Ben Zobrist. Some fans wanted to see Tommy La Stella a chance at second base if Baez was getting the day off.
