Cubs lineup vs. Nationals, Contreras to start in LF

The Chicago Cubs (57-51) will take on the Washington Nationals in a possible playoff preview on 1:20 PM CDT on Saturday afternoon televised on ABC-7 Chicago and the MLB Network.

Righty veteran John Lackey will get the start for the defending World Champions opposed by former Cubs pitcher Edwin Jackson.

In 2017, Lackey has an 8-9 record with 4.87 ERA and 99 strikeouts. However, he has been impressive lately with a 3-0 record with a 3.27 ERA in the month of July.

Jackson will be making his first start at Wrigley Field since 2014.

Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will get his third start of the season at left field. In the cleanup position, he is batting .316 with 10 homers, 30 RBI in only 26 games.

The Cubs are currently in first place in the National League Central (0.5 games) ahead of the Brew Crew.
