The Chicago Cubs (39-38) will battle the Washington Nationals at 6:05 p.m. CDT on Wednesday night televised on CSN Chicago and MLB Network. Righty veteran John Lackey will take the mound for the defending World Champions. Former Cubs backup catcer Miguel Montero has been designated for assignment on Wednesday after some provacative comments made about Jake Arrieta's performace during Tuesday night's game.

In injury news, Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is on the disabled list with a hand abrasion and Ben Zobrist is still out with his wrist injury and currently on the 10-day disabled list. Zobrist stayed back in Chicago to do rehab before being activated by the Cubs eventually.
