Cubs lineup vs. Nationals, Schwarber out |
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs will battle the Washington Nationals in game five of the NLDS at 7:08 p.m. CDT on Thursday night televised on TBS.
Righty standout Kyle Hendricks will start for the defending World Champions opposed by lefty Gio Gonzalez. Hendricks has the lowest career postseason ERA among active pitchers with a 1.98 ERA. Cubs teammates Ben Zobrist and Kyle Schwarber are both out of the starting lineup for tonight's must-win game. Maddon decided to go with a better defensive lineup with Heyward, Almora, and Jay roaming for flyballs in the outfield. Can Jon Jay get something going for the Cubs at the leadoff position? The leadoff batters in the NLDS are a combined 1-for-28 in the series with Jay and Almora going 0-for-13. Backs against the wall? The @Cubs have been here before. #NLDS Game 5 TONIGHT at 8pm ET on @TBSNetwork. pic.twitter.com/B0QXj7od3t
