The Chicago Cubs (25-24) will battle the San Diego Padres (29-20) at 3:40 p.m. CDT on Monday afternoon televised on ABC 7 Chicago.
Righty Kyle Hendricks will take the mound for the defending World Champions opposed by Padres starter Jarred Cosart. Hendricks is currently sporting a 4-2 record with 3.25 ERA and 43 strikeouts on the season. In his last six starts, he has been impressive with 3-1 record with 1.96 ERA. The Cubs need Hendricks to right the ship after a brutal sweep on the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber and second baseman Ben Zobrist are both in the starting lineup for today's action while rookie Ian Happ is on the bench.
