Cubs lineup vs. Reds, Bryant back

The Chicago Cubs (68-57) will go for the sweep of the Cincinnati Reds at 6:10 PM CDT on Thursday night televised on CSN Chicago. The Cubs are in sole possession of first place ahead of the Brewers by 3.5 games in the National League Central division.

The North Siders are currently 8-2 in their last ten games.

Veteran righty Jake Arrieta will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Sal Romano.

In 2017, Arrieta has a 13-8 record with an impressive 3.63 ERA and 141 strikeouts. He has been pitching exceptional in his last seven starts garnering a 5-1 record with a 2.00 ERA and will be going for his seventh straight quality start tonight.

Willson Contreras will still be out of the lineup for at least a few more weeks dealing with his hamstring injury. However, both Contreras and injured shortstop Addison Russell took batting practice on Wednesday and were seen running in the outfield during pregame.
