Cubs lineup vs. Reds, Bryant out with injury

The Chicago Cubs (67-57) will take on the Cincinnati Reds at 6:10 PM CDT on Wednesday night televised on CSN Chicago. The Cubs are in sole possession of first place ahead of the Brewers by 2.5 games in the National League Central division.

The North Siders are currently 7-3 in their last ten games.

Mike Montgomery will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Asher Wojciechowski.

In 2017, Montgomery has a 3-6 record with an impressive 3.67 ERA and 77 strikeouts. As a reliever, he has a 2.57 ERA in 27 relief appearances out of the bullpen.

Willson Contreras will still be out of the lineup for at least a few more weeks dealing with his hamstring injury. However, he was seen on Tuesday afternoon doing some light jogging drills in the outfield. Both Contreras and Addison Russell took batting practice on Wednesday.

Cubs slugger Kris Bryant is also out of the starting lineup after getting hit in his hand during Tuesday night's game. The injury was called a hand intusion (bruise) and he is currently day-to-day with the injury.
