WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Chicago Cubs today recalled infielder Jeimer Candelario from Triple-A Iowa. Right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro has been optioned to Triple-A.

Candelario will be available for the Cubs tonight when they begin their four-game series against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park.

The 23-year-old Candelario joins the Cubs for his second stint in the big leagues this season. He hit .143 (3-for-21) with a double and two RBI in six games during his first stay last month. With Iowa, Candelario is batting .274 (61-for-223) with 22 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and 41 RBI in 63 games for Iowa this season. He has a .366 on-base percentage and a .520 slugging percentage, good for an .886 OPS.

The switch-hitter made his major league debut with the Cubs last season, going 1-for-11 (.091) during a brief five-game stint with the club in July.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Candelario is a career .270 hitter (720-for-2,662) with 65 homers and 402 RBI in 721 minor league games covering seven seasons in the Cubs organization.

Floro, 26, has no record and an 8.53 ERA (6 ER/6.1 IP) in two outings with the Cubs this season. With Iowa this year, he has gone 2-1 with one save and a 3.48 ERA (13 ER/33.2 IP) in 18 appearances – 16 in relief and two as a starter.
