The Chicago Cubs have released veteran reliever Junichi Tazawa on Friday according to multiple reports. Tazawa will now hit free agency and probably picked up by a team that needs some minor league depth for the second half of the season.

The 33-year old had a 4.00 ERA in 18 innings with Iowa this season.

From 2012-2016, he had 78 holds and four saves with an impressive 3.20 ERA.
