Win today or the season is over for the Northsiders.

The pressure can be overwhelming in a must-win game but Cubs manager David Ross enjoys that type of excitement surrounding Friday afternoon's playoff game against the Miami Marlins.

“Maybe I just look at it differently than everybody else, but like, the nerves and excitement are what we come to work for and what we play for,” Ross told the media during pre-game. “The expectations and coming in every day — it is an elimination game. We gotta win today. That’s exciting. Like, ‘let’s get it, boys. Let’s go.’"

Ross will continue to provide support for his players.

"I try to be a positive person and come in with a good attitude and make sure I’m doing what I can to help the group."

The Cubs will have Yu Darvish on the mound as they try to escape elimination today at Wrigley Field.
