Cubs News: Javier Baez to be honored with street sign

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

Cubs utility infielder and fan favorite Javier Baez will be honored with his own street sign in Humboldt Park near Little Cubs Field.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Baez will be at the unveiling of the street sign on Tuesday.

The City Council approved in January the following sign: "Javier 'Javy' Baez Way," on West Luis Munoz Marin Drive near Little Cubs Field. Baez was the only Puerto Rican on the Cubs roster last season as the street has several large Puerto Rican flags proudly displayed.

Congratulations to Baez on his contributions in helping the Cubs win the 2016 World Series and now having his own street sign.
