Javy Baez on extension talks with Cubs |
El Mago wants to be a Cub for his entire MLB career.
Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez spoke to the media Sunday and updated the status of extension talks with his agent and the Cubs organization. "It’s been up and down. It’s business," Baez said via The Athletic's Patrick Mooney. "It’s really tough, but I’ll let them work that out. If it works, great. If not, we’ve got another year." Baez went on to say that he would be "grateful" if the extension was done by Opening Day but not sure if it will. He hit .281 with 29 homers and 85 RBIs last season. For his career, he has a .270 batting average with 110 dingers and 354 RBIs. Javy appreciation post. pic.twitter.com/L9KvdxPHJ0
