Veteran oufielder Jon Jay replaced a sick Kris Bryant in the lineup on Friday night against the St. Louis Cardinals.

However, the replacement didn't last long as Jay left the game in the second inning with a back spasm injury. Maddon will have a juggle a short bench now with two of his players out for the remainder of the game.

Ben Zobrist will fill in at right field while Tommy La Stella will take over at second base.
