Tommy is in his third season in the Cubs organization after being acquired from Atlanta, November 16, 2014, with an international signing bonus slot (No. 4) for right-handed pitcher Arodys Vizcaino and three international signing bonus slots (Nos. 2, 3, 4) ... Broke camp with the Cubs in 2016 and played in 74 games (31 starts) ... was limited to 33 games with Chicago in 2015 due to injuries ... Led National League rookies with 36 walks and a .328 on-base percentage in 93 games with Atlanta in 2014 ... compiled a .984 fielding percentage (6 E/368 TC) in 88 games at second base ... Has hit .258 (138-for-534) with 34 doubles, two triples, four homers and 53 RBI in 200 career big league games between the Braves and Cubs ... has walked 59 times compared to 74 strikeouts ... Owns a .319 batting average (360-for-1,130) with 169 runs, 70 doubles, 15 triples, 23 home runs and 179 RBI in 321 career minor league games ... Drew more walks than strikeouts in four-straight seasons in the minors, 2012-15 ... Entered the 2014 campaign rated as Atlanta's ninth best prospect by Baseball America ... Was named the 2013 Mississippi Braves Most Valuable Player after leading the team with a .343 batting average and a .422 on-base percentage ... In 2012, he was honored as the MiLB.com Organization All-Star of the Year with the Braves Gulf Coast Rookie League team and Single-A Lynchburg ... Was originally selected by the Braves in the eighth round of the 2011 Draft ... Attended Coastal Carolina University and was named the 2011 Big South Player of the Year and a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy ... Led the Big South in hits (92), runs scored (59), home runs (14), RBI (70) and was second in batting average (.398) ... Selected to the 2011 Louisville Slugger All-American team ... Graduated from St. Joe's Montvale High School (N.J.) in 2007.
