Cubs News: Kris Bryant injury update |
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant left Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves after injuring his left ring finger sliding head first into third base in the first inning.
Bryant was seen holding his finger on his left hand as he walked to the dugout after being thrown out trying to advance to third on a ball in the dirt. He doubled in his one at-bat of the game. The Cubs announced that Bryant has a sprain in his left pinkie. The X-rays were negative on any type of fracture and they will monitor him the next few days while the injury is being called day-to-day. In 2017, Bryant is batting .275 with 19 homers and 40 RBI. Tommy La Stella is now in the game to play third.
