Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has wons tons of accolades ranging from Minor League Player of the Year, No. 1 draft pick by the Cubs, Rookie of the year in 2015, and winning the MVP award in 2016.

Add Cubs' MLBPA player representative to his impressive baseball resume.

"Watching some of the events of the offseason, I feel I owe it to myself, because a lot of this will affect me and people my age, and I want to have all the information I can for down the road," Bryant said via MLB insider Carrie Muskat. "I learned a lot this offseason and hope to learn more."

The 26-year old superstar knows that it would be advantageous for him to know more about the business side of things.

"There's everything you do on the field, but there's a whole [other] side to this game, and it's the business side, and it affects us and affects how people play on the field," Bryant said. "If I can find a way to learn more about that and enjoy that part of it, too, it will be free and easy on the field."

In 2017, Bryant hit .295 with 29 homers, 111 runs (5th in NL), 95 walks (3rd in NL), 73 RBIs, an on-base percentage of .409, and OPS of .946 (7th in NL). He changed up his approach to the plate and cut down on his strikeout rate (19.2%) while adding a career-best 76.7% contact rate.

In case you were wondering, former Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta was the previous representative for the team. He is now stuck in limbo land with no team currently with only 20 days left until Opening Day.
